Description: Ailsa Farms, circa 1902, when purchased by Jennie Tuttle Hobart, the widow of Garret A. Hobart (the 24th vice president of the United States, 1844-1899). Hobart purchased the land from John MacCulloch, who built this fieldstone castle in 1877 at a cost of $25,000. The property eventually became the campus of what is now William Paterson University. Photograph is undated. Date is approximate.
